I bought my first 12c in 1988 and sadly lost it in the late nineties. I quickly replaced it and am still a proud owner. I'm not sure exactly how, but those 3 watch batteries that power it have lasted almost a decade, but they remind me every time I power up that they are on their last legs.
So here's an opportunity for some enterprising iPhone app developer. Cut a deal to emulate the 12c with HP. There is a huge following of folks out there (I miss RPN big time!) who will pay a serious premium to have this app on a modern piece of hardware.
Update: there is a FOSS app that emulates the HP-12C on the iPhone, but it's not in the App Store and requires that you Jailbreak your phone to utilize it. My guess is Apple won't allow this in the App Store because of copywright issues...

i just switched to the iphone 3g. i have the hp 12c on my treo 750, so don't understand why apple doesn't make it available in the apps. the 3g has the 2.0 software and i can't find a place to "launch" to the website listed on other google searches to download the program from the developer?
