Furqan Nazeeri

Furqan Nazeeri is currently President & CEO of Virid.us, an online community focused on green issues at work. Previously he was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with Softbank Capital where he evaluated and sourced investment opportunities while working with Softbank portfolio companies and developing Virid.us.

Furqan previously founded Pivot, Inc. in 2004 after recognizing the potential to use innovative technology to solve a widespread financial industry problem that stems from inefficient communications on the trading desk. With Furqan's guiding vision, Pivot's IMTRADER platform, with patents pending, is now the leading AOL-certified, real-time communications, trading and research distribution solution on Wall Street and ranked by Securities Industry News as the 31st largest front office technology vendor and the 3rd fastest growing.

Prior to Pivot, Furqan worked for Eze Castle Integration where he was CFO and EVP in charge of its custom software development group which he ultimately spun-out as Pivot. He was also a co-founder of Altgate Capital, an international hedge fund consultancy (and the inspiration for the name of this blog). In addition, Furqan was a key part of three other start-ups including leading international joint ventures for Nasdaq-traded, automotive technology vendor Amerigon.

Furqan holds a B.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. While an undergraduate at Michigan, he was team leader for the national champion UofM Solar Car Team.
